Canon Controversy and More Discussed with Don Komarechka

This week I had the honor and pleasure of joining my friend Don Komarechka on his podcast, Photo Geek Weekly. The discussions ranged from light-hearted to heavy to geektastic around the world of photography. I also share my pick of the week, which is a camera I absolutely loved. I really enjoyed being on his show. Click through here to check out the show notes of the episode on his page. Or you can just click here to play the episode.

Also, make sure you check out his new book about the world of macro photography. I was gifted the book and it’s UNBELIEVABLE. Get it here. It’s truly a “universe at your feet” when it comes to macro photography

Capturing Beautiful Macro Photos of Snowflakes With Don Komarechka

I’ve previously talked about shooting macro photography on my show at work. I enojyed sharing the bit of info I know about it, but I will not claim to be any good at it. Ha! Macro photography can be quite easy for anyone to do, but the “next level” maco photographers have some amazing skills and understand the science/physics behind getting the GREAT macro photograph. Hence, my man Don Komarechka. He’s known as the “Mad Scientist” with regards to his outstanding photography. So talented and skilled.

Prior to the pandemic lockdown, he shot a segment for DPReview showing off his process of creating beautiful macro photos of snowflakes. It’s a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at his workflow. Check out the video below. Also, below the video, check out his podcast. I was recently a guest on his show where we had a bit of philosophical chatter as well as nerdy chatter around the world of photography. I’m truly honored to have been a guest on his show.

Photo Geek Weekly Podcast Episode

I REALLY Enjoyed This Chat With Steve Brazill and Don Komarechka

My friends, Steve Brazill, the amazing concert photographer, and the author plus awesome macro photography genius, Don Komarechka had me as a guest on their recent image critique podcast. If you’re not subscribed to Behind The Shot TV, do it now. The show consists of interviews with photographers to discuss a particular shot in their portfolio wherein the photographers share a bit of insight on how the shot came together. Also, the show has a separate series strictly viewable on YouTube that’s an image critique show dedicated to the Behind The Show TV Flickr group. Brazill and Komarechka and sometimes a third guest host critique the images submitted by the Flickr group. I enjoyed being a part of this episode and look forward to joining these gents again. Thanks for watching and sharing this show with your photography friends.

Hanging Out With The Mad Scientist Don Komarechka

I recently had the honor and pleasure of being on the Photo Geek Weekly podcast hosted by Mr. Don Komarechka. “DonKom” is an amazing photographer and educator up in Canada where he shares his mastery of macro photography and other geekery with others.

His podcast, Photo Geek Weekly, airs each week as he and a guest host will pick through the interesting photography-related news topics of the week. This leads to great discussions not only about photography, but also some good life lessons everyone can take from the photography lifestyle. Below you’ll find the episode where I was a guest host. Just click the photo. Check it out. I appreciate Mr. DonKom havin’ me on this week. Lots of fun and good discussions.

Make sure you’re subscribed to my shows Hands-On Photography and Hands-On Wellness. Thanks.
