So I have a couple online galleries to show off my photography and offer it up for sale. It could be used for stock art or printed for other enjoyment. I enjoy shooting photos. I enjoy editing photos I shoot. The whole process is a bit of a thrill to me.
I'd be lying if I said I didn't care about growing my status as a photographer. I'd love to be able to do what I love and actually get paid for it. I also enjoy filming and editing video. It would be great to be able to "create" for a good living wage. But I'm not going to dump by current "day job" just yet.
Anyway, one of my photos recently sold on Adobe Stock. I was pretty excited to see the notification in my inbox. I like the idea of my work being out there on the web and my "signal" getting boosted each day. I hope each signal boost will lead to bigger and better opportunities. This comes at a price, though. The commission paid by Adobe was quite embarrassing. I won't say the exact amount paid, but let's just say that it the photo sold for $1, I earned 2-cents in commission.
I'm pretty sure I'll be removing my gallery from Adobe Stock. Just thought I'd share my experience and the photo that was sold. It's one of my favorite photos, actually.
