Big video project? Adobe says It can help with its new Production workflow. Today, Adobe launches a new Production workflow within its Premiere Pro video editing software. For the last couple of years, Adobe has gone heavy on cloud synching of assets and team collaboration. This is the next step in that endeavor.
Cloud Productivity and Collaboration
Now, the new workflow is in the Productions panel of Premiere Pro. Inside this panel, you can divide up your project assets and work only on the items you’re assigned to working on. For example, if you’re only supposed to work on the opening sequence of your film, you can assign a collection accordingly. Break out your sequence by audio or video assets. And of course, since you have Creative Cloud, this organization can be synched and allow for other team members to see how the production schema is set. Adobe states that “all projects in a Production share the same settings, including scratch disks. This means that preview files rendered by one editor are available for all editors who use that project, ensuring smooth playback and timesaving for the whole team.”
Security
Whenever you mention cloud, you have to take security into consideration. Yes your assets can live only on your local storage if you need it to. The cloud sync is there for others to help out with the project at anytime from any computer.
No specific date has been mentioned as to when this feature will roll out, but this is exciting news for the independent filmmaker looking to create the next great cinematic work of art. See more on Adobe’s video below. Or on Adobe’s blog.
